THE SHADOW PUPPET BOYS
with Jack Lambert and Mack Pegram
Monday, 30 September
6:30-8:30pm
Mack and Jack will lead an evening of shadow puppet making and puppet theatre culminating in the compilation of a small theatrical scene. The workshop will encompass the idea of drawing with paper and scissors and how unexpected materials can be transformed into media for storytelling through play and performance. The evening will unfold through participants' handmade puppets, scenery and impromptu script writing.
Bio:
Having cut their teeth at one of the world’s top fashion schools, Toronto-born Jack ‘Clothes for Idiots’ Lambert and home-county hero Mack ‘The Pegram Collection’ Pegram are creating waves in the contemporary menswear scene with a fresh attitude and serious style. Lambert originally trained as an illustrator in NYC but decided to follow the dazzling lights into the world of men’s fashion. He is currently CEO and creative director of his semi-fictional culture industry empire ‘Clothes for Idiots’. Pegram is now director and chief curator of his eponymous institution ‘The Pegram Collection’ - a semi-fictional museum of art, fashion and personal relics in Buckinghamshire. Both artists have a penchant for drawing to animate their perverted inner worlds. They find inspiration in absurd reimaginings of the past cobbled together from weak historical sources, local legend and antiquated illustrations creating work that blurs the lines between tailoring, costume, curation and filmmaking. Has Eye to Pencil ever hosted such a pair of shining stars in the making? These are surely two to watch.
