TEXTUAL MAGIC
with Issey Kang & Alex Heard
Tuesday, 19 November
6.30-8.30pm
The last pseudo-Bauhaus workshop led by Issey Kang and Alex Heard in the studio will lead on from Karoline Franka Foldager’s drawing-talk the previous evening. We will be delving into the emergence of text based artworks by contemporary artists as well as the amuletic power of words in Medieval England, following from Katherine Hindley’s new book ‘Textual Magic’.
With printed and drawn text we will curl, bunch, tear and fold paper into a shared mass of baroque complexity, transforming the flat page into sculptural drawings.
