WALK DRAW REPEAT
with Anna Hart
Thursday, 17 October
3 - 7pm
An experiment to explore walking and drawing as tools for knowing self and knowing a place; for archiving feelings about self and place; for discovering our embodied archives. A repeated silent walking of a local will be followed each time by an immediate drawing of remembered/gathered familiarities. You might already have a long relationship with the neighbourhood surrounding our studio, or it could be totally new to you - how might we find and develop marks to map our feelings about a place, across an afternoon?
No drawing experience is necessary, simply a willingness to bring your body to the streets and the paper.
Bio:
Anna Hart makes walking structures, often in silence, as a way of paying attention to place and reimagining ways of moving and being. She is also founder of AiR where she has enabled over 400 temporary works and one permanent work, in public spaces with ‘staying’ as a methodology to prompt serendipity, responsibility, and overlapping community. Anna teaches in art and architecture studios, currently at Central Saint Martins, and is an artist coach.
