 With Temi Bandele
Thursday, 23 March, 6:30-8:30pm
Location: Studio, 26 Exmouth Market, EC1 4QE

Temi Bandele is joining us again in the studio to extend the printmaking workshop she ran in the Summer term last year.

For Temi, drawing is used as a tool that translates observations, feeling and imaginings to create and explore her own worlds. “I’ve found printmaking is a great way of being less precious about work. The act of repetition in print frees the conscious brain and allows mistakes and unexpected results. You’re forced to tackle ideas from behind (literally) which leaves room for images to surprise you”

This second workshop led by Temi will continue to explore monoprint, this time expanding into monotype. Both processes have a level of uncertainty and force you to be less precious about how you draw. We will be playing with both techniques and work into each other’s drawings, using a mix of traditional drawing tools and found objects that can make marks.

Materials are included.

Temi Bandele Bio:
Temi is an artist from London, currently in her second year studying Fine Art at the Ruskin School of Art in Oxford. Her work at the moment is a translation of her observations, feelings and imaginings through drawing and image. “I am interested in creating and exploring my own worlds. I play with how much and how little an image can say. I think looking is the most important part of my work, which is why drawing underpins everything I do. I love looking through archival images and ebay is one of my favourite research tools.”
