REFLECTIONS ON THE DRAWING MATTER COLLECTION

The Drawing Matter Collection, housed in Somerset, comprises many-thousand representations of architecture and design thinking. In this talk, Matt Page, artist and the Deputy Director of Drawing Matter, will discuss his interests in two objects from the collection—a collage by the sculptor/architect Walter Pichler and a drawing by the artist Ulrich Rückriem—each of which open up manifold ways of thinking about the practice and uses of drawing.

The talk will conclude with a few reflections on the ‘lessons’ from architectural and design drawing that he has incorporated into his own art practice. 

The session will include a chance to look at some original material from the collection.

Matt Page is an artist based in Somerset. Since 2020 he has been the Deputy Director of Drawing Matter.
